Video Submission Guidelines

Dear Alums and Scholars,

Thank you for taking the time to contribute your content to our video project. Please send all videos to studio@jkcf.org via WeTransfer (www.wetransfer.com). If for some reason you can’t use WeTransfer, let us know via email and we can set up an alternative on Box, Dropbox, or Google Drive for you to share your file.

General filming instructions

  • Avoid sitting in front of any bright backgrounds or windows; a well-lit interior room with a simple neutral color wall behind you is ideal. A constant source of light is ideal as the lighting won’t change during recording

  • Avoid sitting too close to any noise-generating sources (i.e. AC unit, fans, running water)

  • Close any doors and windows around you to reduce the possibility of any external noise bleeding through

  • Don’t sit too far away from the camera as that will diminish the audio quality, 3-5 feet away from the device is ideal

  • Please allow a few seconds before and after you start recording before speaking on camera to allow us some buffer time for editing

Phone recording

  • Wipe off the camera lens with a soft cloth

  • Set the phone up on something sturdy so that it’s no lower than eye level

  • Please film with landscape orientation (aka sideways) if possible.
